Our Composers

Dan Pricea title

Since initial successes whilst completing his undergraduate studies at Salford University, Dan has gone on to establish himself as one of the leading composers  writing contemporary brass band music in the 21st Century. His music has reached both the Concert Hall and the Contest forum globally.

He has held both arranging and composing residences at the Cory Band, Black Dyke Band and Grimethorpe Colliery Band, associations that have enabled him to collaborate with the likes of trombone virtuoso Wycliffe Gordon, composer Tolga Kashif on his 2012 Olympic Anthem and the Opera Babes.

Dan lives and works in Manchester as a lecturer at the University of Salford, as well as retaining a career as a freelance composer. He continues to work with leading international ensembles and solo artists in brass band and his portfolio now includes music for concert band and choir.
